25th June 2019 Bicheno Golf Club – Tree Planting Day On Monday 1st July we will be commencing a tree replanting program at various locations around the course. Start time will be around 8.00am and be co-ordinated from our maintenance shed weather dependant of course. Wallaroo will be there early with an excavator and auger to dig the holes in the designated areas under my supervision so we don’t have any issues with irrigation piping. We would appreciate as many helpers as possible to come along and assist with the removal of clay, back filling of holes with topsoil, planting of the new trees plus the installation of new tree guards and water tubes for each plant. Carol van der Velde is the co-ordinator of the project and has prepared an extensive mapping of the location of the plants on each fairway so don’t hesitate to ask her if you need assistance. Adrian Howard will be onsite Wednesday 26th June with his Bobcat to heap up the top soil we’ve located on one of our undeveloped fairways. This will be mixed with the soil located on the road opposite our wood pile near the shed. I will be there to oversee the work on this same day. Hoping we can get as many of you there to assist as the more hands we have the lighter the work load will be for us all. Dave Hough. Course Convenor.
